TerraVista NW is a small engineering firm located in Snohomish County, and engages in a wide variety of project types in both site development and public works. Projects include development of commercial properties, industrial facilities, land development, parking lots, utility infrastructure, pedestrian facilities, transportation improvements, and residential properties.

RESPONSIBILITIESAND DUTIES

  • Coordinate with team members within the office and outside project consultants concerning project requirements.

  • Engage in innovative engineering designs by utilizing personal technical skills and researching reports, maps, drawings, record plans, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data.

  • Evaluate opportunities for integrating Low Impact Development (LID) best management practices into engineering design. 

  • Review jurisdictional requirements and insure that project complies with all permit and legal requirements.

  • Perform hydrologic calculations utilizing multi-event stormwater modeling software.  

  • Perform hydraulic calculations utilizing complex gravity and pressure flow modeling software, as well as manual calculations for initial project planning.

  • Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop comprehensive plan sets, to be utilized for permitting and construction of the proposed facility.  

  • Document findings of engineering design within written reports, such as stormwater reports and summary reports.

  • Track time spent to conform with established project budgets and spending projections.
    Respond to Client project inquiries.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent communication writing skills.

  • Design experience related to site and land development, and public infrastructure.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from accredited college

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or actively pursuing certification.  Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.

  • Working knowledge of regional stormwater and permit requirements.

  • Ability and desire to work in team environment

  • Ability to work on variety of projects and effectively take on new challenges.

  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D proficiency

  • Microsoft Office proficiency

  • Ability to work to deadlines and within budgets

  • Utilize good engineering judgement and problem-solving skills to bring about innovative solutions to engineering design.

  • Possess a high degree of mathematical and technical skills.
